DPSI Interpreting Course
The Diploma in Public Service Interpreting is a higher education course in interpreting validated by the Institute of Linguists (IoL). It is one of the popular bilingual courses available for a professional qualification and interpreters and translators with a DPSI diploma are much sought after by employers.
We currently run this course in the English and Urdu languages but can run it in any other language if there are enough students, so please do let us know if you are interested in doing the DPSI in another language. The DPSI can be done in the options of law, health or for local governments and allow you to become an interpreter at courts of law, the NHS or local government institutions such as social services or housing. The course runs for 1 year. It consists of a 3 hour lesson every week and ends with an oral and written exam in both interpreting and translation at the end of the course.
There are no formal requirements for the course, however, candidates who wish to do this course are required to have a good level of fluency in both English and their chosen language beforehand.
The price for the DPSI course this year, exclusive to BETA, is £1,120 including course fees and exam fees. Paying upon admission to the course can also allow for a discount so don't delay.

Consultancy Sessions
Consulting sessions are held throughout the year covering areas of teaching and education and can be both specific for Urdu teachers and general to all. Workshops and seminars are given by an experienced and qualified professional who will help you acquire the skills and knowledge you need for a career in teaching.
